Parents and Friends Association

The school “community” is a very important concept at St Joseph’s. This community works together in partnership to provide the best possible facilities, educational and pastoral environment for each individual student.

The Parents and Friends Association at St Joseph’s is an extremely important part of our school community. This group meets on a monthly basis to discuss wide ranging issues, and to make decisions, which affect both the daily activities and long term future of our school. The regular meetings provide an
opportunity for our Principal to submit a report regarding current “happenings” and any proposed changes to a wide range of areas including: staffing, student assessment, educational or other requirements of the school, and curriculum changes.
The Parents and Friends Association does undertake fundraising activities to meet financial commitments such as the repayments for the Moylan Hall and to purchase materials and equipment for our children. We rely on the assistance and commitment from our families for these activities and also to provide help in other areas of the school including the clothing pool and canteen.

All parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meetings, which are held regularly in the Library once a month, with the date and times advertised in the weekly Newsletter. The meetings provide the opportunity to meet other parents and to participate in the very important, decision-making process. The attendance of all parents, and friends of the school, would be greatly appreciated.
