The Highland Games is a yearly occurrence organised by the Highland Games Committee in celebration of Aberdeen's Scottish roots. On the first weekend in July, crowds flock to Jefferson Oval to enjoy a day of Scottish themed fun.
As a member of the Aberdeen community, St Joseph's High School Aberdeen plays a considerable and prominent part in the festivities.
During the day, the SJA Café provides food and drinks to people attending the activities at Jefferson Park, and students compete in such events as the highland dancing and team tug-o-war competitions.
At night, the school Moylan Hall hosts the Ceilidh Dinner in the Moylan Hall for members of the Highland Games Committee and those of Scottish Heritage. Students at St Josephs High School prepare the meals, wait tables and serve the food for the Ceilidh Dinner.
